Welcome to adulthood

Perspective.

Every day I wake up with a desire to change. To do better. To be better.

We live in a world where most of us grow up being handed all we need to excel in life.

A home, a family, supportive friends, generous amounts of food, clothing, technology, money, education.

All causing us to have a false sense of entitlement.

We are told by our parents to work hard and earn our place in this world, while they hand us everything we need...

During our childhood and teenage years, we take advantage of this freedom, not realising that one day reality will hit us like a slap in the face.

We're encouraged to grow, explore, learn, love, rebel.

And so we do.

And we love it!

We free-fall into a life where we aim to stretch our limits.

We drink, we smoke, we get high, we fall in love, we have sex, we laugh, we drink some more.

We feel invincible.

Then one day we wake up.

We're in our twenties and barley getting by.

Reality hits.

We don't have the safety blanket of our parents anymore.

There are bills and rent to pay, shopping to do, school and /or work to show up to.

Everything takes hard work, effort and time.

And somehow in all this chaos, we are suppose to 'find ourselves'.

Well I can honestly say were screwed!

Welcome to adulthood.
